Great news from Buybott! There have been some lovely new updates to the site, the most obvious of which is the new logo and look.
After holding a contest that drew in a number of different submissions for the new logo, we–Lyndsay and Darren, founders of Buybott–chose from the top 3 voted submissions and are happy to announce that Elder Jimmy Frederick Jr.’s submission is the new company logo! Jimmy runs his own freelance graphic design company and his work is highly reccomended. His portfolio can be found on his website www.clarityfreelance.com and contacted at Clarityfreelance@gmail.com. There was also a fan favorite poll and we are happy to announce that Sydney Juell, and Oregon State graphic design student, won fan favorite and received a cash prize.
As some of you may have read in a previous post, Buybott was accepted into Oregon State University’s Advantage Accelerator Program. It is through its guidance and motivation that the latest version of the site was launched
at the beginning of this month along with several new and helpful features. First, there has been a new sorting feature added which allows you, the user, to sort results by price or relevance making it easier to find the right item for you. Second is the addition of boards. You can create a board and add any number of items to it when great deals are found or if you just need to make a list. While these features are new and exciting, Buybott is always looking for ways to make improvement so you have a smooth and easy shopping experience. On the website you can provide feedback on how features can be improved or new features you might like to see in the future.
Another exciting announcement is that for the month of September all profits from Buybott will be going to the American Heart Association. The American Heart Association was founded in 1924 with the goal of eliminating cardiovascular diseases and stroke. Lyndsay has worked with the American Heart Association in the past at Oregon State University. Healthy living is important to Buybott as a company and we love the American Heart Association’s promotion of healthy living, raising awareness of heart related diseases and stroke, and research into cures for those diseases. The American Heart Association has a four star rating on CharityNavigator.com for a consistent track record and open and responsible use of funds.
